Pastel Workshops

Anne Von Ehr teaches workshops throughout the year. A gifted teacher, Anne encourages her students to follow their own creative vision by giving them the tools to do so. “My workshops put emphasis on experimentation and the value of information.”

Workshops offered include: Beginning Pastel, Advanced Technique, Painting the Landscape Plein Air, Painting Landscape from Photos, and Composition, A Matter of Choices.

March Historic Courthouse in Yorkville

Anne Von Ehr Pastel Class, The Next Step: This class will be a chance for each artist to work on their own individual strengths and weaknesses as Anne guides you in your artistic endeavors. An individual critiquing process will start on Friday afternoon, so please bring two pieces of your work.

Dates & Times: Friday, March 7; starting time will vary due to individual critiquing time slots and class will finish at 8:30PM
Saturday, March 8 from 8:30AM to 4:00PM
Location: Historic Courthouse in Yorkville
Cost: $110 - includes Friday’s dinner & Saturday’s lunch.

"How Did You Choose That Color?"

As a pastel artist and instructor,this is one question I am often asked, particularly when the color is slightly unusual, but works just right. Trust me, it is not magic! It's something you can learn.This class teaches you some color theory, value basics, and something about trusting your instincts.

October in historic Brown County, Indiana

Sunday October 12th

Plein Air Workshop: Held at a beautiful rustic setting. This workshop includes it all, accommodations, most meals, and the workshop. The workshop starts Sunday evening October 12th with wine and snacks on the wrap-around porch at dusk. Get to know your fellow artists and enjoy the quiet of this 10 acre site. We will paint at various sites and you will have plenty of help at your easels in addition to short lectures. For those of you who prefer solitude, come enjoy this comfortable environment.
We will also visit the historic T.C. Steele Museum and the Brown County Art Museum. The workshop is limited to 10 women. Baths are shared by 5.
